About Michele

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Art Therapist, my focus is helping you create a life that expresses the fullness of who you are. Few of us already have the roadmap for how to do this. Drawing on my skills and experience, I can guide you to create a more meaningful relationship with yourself, the people in your life and the world around you.

I am an integrative therapist trained in EMDR, the Trauma Resiliency Model, relational Gestalt therapy, mindfulness practices and the creative process. By incorporating a neurologically-informed approach that connects mind and body, and working actively with what is unfolding moment-to-moment in the session, I help clients go beyond talk to tap into their innate ability to create transformation.

I was initially drawn into this work by my interest in the creative process as a powerful tool for healing. After earning a Masters Degree specializing in Clinical Art Therapy and working with clients from all walks of life, I was deeply impacted by the profound scope of trauma that affected so many. Yet, this trauma is often hidden from view. What makes us human-needing love and connection, safety and trust—makes us vulnerable to the big and small traumas of life. Trauma has been a part of my life, too, but like many people, I did not recognize it for what it was. In my work with clients, I bring compassion for the difficulties we all encounter and a conviction that with understanding, connection, and support, there is an alternative to suffering.

For some clients healing may take the form of reducing anxiety and stress while learning to live with equilibrium in the midst of constant change. For others, it might be responding more skillfully when difficult emotions or moods arise. The difficulties we encounter individually also appear in our relationships with others. In a culture geared toward achievement and comparison, many clients seek help to reduce self-criticism and unhelpful patterns of behavior, and increase self-compassion

It can be hard to do this work alone. In collaboration with a therapist who brings the experience, skills, and willingness to be fully present, it can be life changing. I am committed to being on that path of discovery with you.
